Be the Solution to Pollution is a community based organization, spearheaded by Mary Lou Nicholson. Participating in beach clean-ups and involving students in climate action is only part of the goals for this organization.

Our mission is to bring awareness to the problem of plastic pollution.

Less than 9% of all plastic is recycled.

Single use plastic is connected to climate change from fossil fuel extraction, production, distribution and in the end most is buried, burned or left in the environment.

Be The Solution to Pollution strives to help communities realize their impact in the plastic crisis, and to motivate action. Whether this be sending letters to politicians, brand audits to identify major polluting companies, or partaking in social movements alongside Break Free From Plastic (another organization devoted to ending the plastic crisis), Be The Solution to Pollution continues to get involved.
